Game of Thrones Receives 13 Emmy Nominations


Since the series premiere of ‘Game of Thrones,’ supportive fans across the web have been posting about their hopes for the show come Emmy season. Well, the nominations are in, and Game of Thrones has received 13 nods – including one for Outstanding Drama Series. Peter Dinklage earned his first nomination for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category. Tim Van Patten received his eighth nomination for directing the show's pilot episode. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were nominated for writing the episode "Baelor." The show also received nominations for Casting, Costumes, Makeup, Prosthetic Makeup and Hairstyling, as well as Special Effects, Sound Editing, Stunt Coordination and Main Title Design.
