Conversation around this week's 'Game of Thrones' revolved around a certain character that fans loved to hate. As the Internet erupted in celebration and speculation, the show's stars paid tribute to their fallen comrade and discussed what else about the show has them cheering. Here's what they loved to love this week:
Sigur Ros' fandom underscored their cameo.
"We would do it again in a heartbeat," Georg Holm of Sigur Ros says about the group's cameo at Joffrey's wedding. "It felt like a natural thing to make our version of 'Rains of Castamere.' …It is maybe not the happiest wedding song, but we think that it fit the scene very well."
Sophie Turner learned Aaron Paul is Team Sansa.
"I met [Aaron Paul] the other day, and we were geeking out about each other's shows. I was like, 'Oh my God, Jesse!' and he was like, 'Oh my God, Sansa!' … After this season, there should be a lot more Sansa fans. It'll be really nice when people start to accept Sansa as not a stupid girl!"
… And wonders who will fill the gap.
“There are no black and white, good, or bad characters in ‘Game of Thrones’ but Joffrey was an exception. Just pure evil… I think it will just make it more exciting for the viewers because there always has to be that one character that people love to hate, so who knows if someone will take his place?”
Peter Dinklage recalls what sold him on playing Tyrion Lannister.
"I had one hesitation, because of the fantasy genre, I didn’t want a really long beard and pointy shoes, and they assured me this character and this world wasn’t that. They told me about his complexity, the fact that he wasn’t a hero or a villain, that he was a womanizer and a drinker, and they painted a flawed and beautiful portrait of him, so I signed on."
Nathalie Emmanuel loves Missandei's wardrobe.
"I got some amazing dresses this season – because, you know, she has her riding gown, her gear... I went to the fitting before we started filming and [the wardrobe person] is like, 'I’ve got three or four gowns for you,' and I’m like, 'What? I get gowns now?' Amazing."
