Normally, sitting on the Iron Throne requires murder, betrayal and a rather loose attitude toward family boundaries... but for the next few days in San Francisco, all that has changed.  Visitors to WonderCon will get the chance to have their photo taken on the Iron Throne, as well as examine some of the costumes from the series, including Ned Stark's and Robert Baratheon's.  For those not lucky enough to be in San Francisco this weekend, some new images have gone online in an Entertainment Weekly feature that may help tide you over...

The extensive character images published by EW this week generated some serious excitement among GOT fans online (and short hair or not, it seems Jaime Lannister's charm is definitely doing its job).  Here are some more of the latest headlines:

• George R.R. Martin traveled to the cold north country (Minnesota) to sign books and speak at a gaming convention.
• Amanda Peet did her best to explain her husband David Benioff's new show on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' ('Thrones' talk begins at the 25-minute mark).
• EW posted an item on its "Inside TV" blog with some more details from the set, as well as a report on Khal Drogo's favorite hobby: "I lie naked in furs," says actor Jason Momoa. "I think I'm naked more than I talk."
